We find ourselves to 2 km from the centre of Acquaviva Picena, altitude 360 meters, small medieval village, Orange Flag.
A step from the sea, San Benedetto del Tronto (8 km) the splendid Coast of the Palms and from the Apennine peaks.
We are in the heart of the region of the Red Superior Piceno, wine doc that is produced
in a limited number of towns included in the area delimited to south from the river Tronto,
to west and to east respectively from the mountains and from the adriatic coast.
Acquaviva itself is renowned for the D.O.C. wine and has well-known wine producing businesses.

We are situated between Pescara and Ancona airports.

Ryan Air fly in to both and offer a daily service to Ancona and Pescara.
Once at the airport you can pick up a hire car from Hertz and drive to us (your journey should take you 1 hour both from Ancona or Pescara).
If you want we may provide you with maps and detailed directions on how to get to your accomodation. Once on site, we can help you with local maps and suggestions to visit the most and th best of our beautiful part of Italy! Rich of culture, art, entertainment, traditions and folklore.

If you wish to use Alitalia, you will need to change flights in Rome or Milan and on to Ancona o Pescara depending on your choice of airport in the UK.

British Airways also fly to Rome and Bologna, and if you are driving from these airports it should take around 3 hours.

ACQUAVIVA PICENA

Acquaviva presents itself as a locality full of culture and traditions, perfect for those who love art and history. But it is really thanks to the Middle Ages that it imposes majestically to the visitors eyes thanks to its suggestive village and ancient surrounding wall. At the highest point of the village is the powerful fortress, symbol of the village and most well known historical monument. Inside the fortress is an ancient arm museum.
A walk through Acquaviva allows you to “go back in time” admiring the Civic Tower, dating back to 1300 and the churches valuable for their architecture and historical interest. If instead you decide to visit the charming countryside you would apprieciate San Francesco, its convent and the rustic chapels that look over the crossroads, not to mention a visit to the numerous cellars of long vine growing and wine producing traditions that produce delicate and refined wines.
Characteristic is also a basket handcraft where straw and willow are interwined.
“Le pajarole”, to which is dedicated a museum. This craft needs much patience and precision and is carried out by only the women of the village, all done exclusively by hand. Many possibilities to eat in characteristic restaurants of the village at good prices.

Locandina dell'11°Edizione dell'Acquaviva Comic Academy e disegno del famoso fumettista DONALD SOFFRITTI Il PALIO della rievocazione storica SPONSALIA	Handcraft market with local homemade fair. Every Wednesday in the months of July and August Comic strips in Acquaviva Prestigious national show dedicated to the comic strip art. Groups of young people and future comic writers come from all over Italy to partecipate in these events. Displays, evening shows and technical demonstrations are held by masters of this sector. Last week of July. Model hobby show Ancient toys and collectables. Agoust The Dukes Palio (Sponsalia) History is still very present in the summer events, one of the most important being the commemoration of the Foresteria wedding, daughter of the Duke of Acquaviva and Rinaldo di Brunforte of Sarnano celebrated in 1234. In the first week of August Acquaviva returns at the medieval splendors: armiger, flag wavers, damsels and country folk bring to life the roads of the village as do the local games which enrage the souls of the villagers. During the wedding banquet, you can enjoy dancing and the music of that epoch, games made by acrobats and the fire eaters and the typical medieval drinks served in terracotta bowls. First week of August.
